Bound in half-café. Smooth spine with gilt fleuron and brown morocco piece on which the title and the author's name appear in gilt. Double gilt fillet at the heel. Covers, morocco and corners rubbed. Fine soiling on the boards. Cover preserved. Pages not soiled. Paper slightly browned. Contents decorated with black and white illustrations in and out of the text. Handwritten annotations on the color cover, the first cover and several pages.
Contemporary of Balzac - to whom he owes the idea of his pen name - Albert d'Arnoux dit Bertall wrote several texts highlighting the French coastline. These same texts are gathered here in a single volume, enhanced with illustrations allowing the reader to discover these famous beaches as well as the people living along them.
