For euphonic reasons the Basque word "Shorlékua" has been printed as it is pronounced and not as it is written.
Dedicated to Michel d'ARCANGUES, son of the author, who died at sea in 1946 in Socoa. Play performed for the first time on September 30, 1949 at the Théâtre du Casino de Biarritz, with the Compagnons du Labour [sic], the Oldarra Basque art group and the Orchestre Symphonique de la Côte Basque.
