Set of two volumes with plum half leather binding. Spine with four raised bands, gilt fillets, titles and tomaisons. Fillets framed in cold on the boards. Super gilt bookplate on each first board. All edges speckled. Browned papers. Good condition of the contents. Each volume has a green cloth bookmark.
A two-volume compilation of the commentaries of this former 16th-century Marshal of France, first published in 1592. He served five different kings, from François I to Henri III, and distinguished himself in particular during the Italian Wars and the Wars of Religion.
