Collection "NAPOLEONIAN LIBRARY".
Preface by Jean TULARD. First biography of this marshal of the Empire, the only one to have conquered his title outside the battlefields of the Grande Armée. He was appreciated and even loved in an unjust and cruel war that he knew how to master with "wisdom" and humanity; so much so that in 1826, the inhabitants of Saragossa had a mass celebrated for the repose of his soul! (Napoleon regretted at Saint Helena that he was not his chief of staff at the battle of Waterloo).
Very good condition.
