In lined slipcase. Bound in full chocolate-brown morocco. On the boards, a decoration reminiscent of the ring ropes, composed of gold and black fillets and two gold chains, in the middle of which a brown morocco band is inlaid. Spine with 4 sautéed nerves. Between the two boxes, gold and black fillets depict a ring corner post. Framed in chocolate-brown morocco on the back covers, with gold and black fillets. Geometrically patterned purple silk lining and endpapers. Cover and spine preserved. Gilt head on witnesses. Filleting on edges and headpieces. Signed binding by TRINCKVEL.
ORIGINAL EDITION. One of 300 numbered copies on vellum pur fil Lafuma.
Elegantly illustrated with 29 etchings by Dunoyer de Segonzac, 9 of which are full-page. Beautifully designed to bring the illustration into dialogue with the text.
