In 1950, Alfonso Ossorio met Jean Dubuffet in Paris. Then, in 1951, on Pollock's advice, he bought a 24-hectare piece of land," The Creeks ", in East Hampton (New York State) where he installed the entire Dubuffet Brut art collection. Ossorio is represented alongside Dubuffet and nearly 140 other artists in the exhibition" The Art of Assembly " at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1961, which allowed this art to be presented to a wide audience.
