First edition of Erik Satie's scores and first printing of Charles MARTIN's illustrations. The work consists of a title illustrated with a black vignette by Martin, including on the back a preface by Satie accompanied by the score of an unappetizing Choral that the musician dedicates to those who do not like him. Following are 20 scores reproduced, like the preface, in facsimile in the composer's handwriting, with the title of the piece printed on the front, accompanied by a vignette in black by Martin. The last leaf includes the table and the justification.
One of 225 copies including 20 plates by Charles Martin illuminated in stencil by Jules Saudé, illustrating each of the scores. This one is not numbered but would be one of the 215 numbered from 11 to 225. The whole edition was made on Hollande laid paper.
Copy enriched with an ORIGINAL DRAWING signed by Charles Martin in India ink on laid paper, representing a woman sitting in a box in a theater.
