Bound in full leatherette with lavalier binding. Nervous spine decorated. Three golden fillets framed on the boards. Inner lace. All edges gilt. Original paper covers and spine bound in. Binding signed CHAMBOLLE-DURU. Portrait-frontispiece and 6 non-text drawings of Julien LE BLANT engraved with etching by Champollion.
LIMITED DRAWING. This one of the 20 numbered copies on Watman paper, second paper after 10 Japan, containing 2 different portraits, one in 3 states and the other in 4 states, and 4 states of the engravings: pure etching and finished with remark on vellum; before the letter and with the letter on Whatman.
