Full royal blue morocco binding. Spine with ornate nerves. Triple gilded fillets in framing on the boards, inner lace. Gilded edges on witnesses. Blankets and spines kept. Binding signed MERCIER Edition for bibliophiles, enriched by a study by Arsène Houssaye and decorated in first print with 6 etchings of HÉDOUIN.
One of the 200 copies printed in the in-8 format of the large papers; among these, one of the 15 on Whatman of a brilliant whiteness, head paper with 15 Japan. These 30 copies are in principle enriched with a sequence before the letter. Ours contains two additional suites: pure etchings and artist's proofs on ancient Japan.
