Bound in full blue morocco leatherette from Prussia. Triple golden fillet around the boards. Floral gold spines with nerves, fillets and wheels decorated with gold on the cups and filled. Gilded slices on marble matching the guards. Binding signed MARIUS MICHEL. Interior illustrated with etching of 1 frontispiece, 11 chapter headings by Duplessis-Bertaux (t. I) and 10 others engraved by Champollion after Fesquet and Jules Garnier (t. II). Spine very slightly clearer.
From the collection of 18th century Storytellers. Compared to the 1866 edition of Leclere, the book includes, in addition to Nogaret's tales, tales of Théis and Abbé Bretin.
