Red half-marocco binding with corners. Spine with five nerves with gilt title and author's note. Headings and cardboard fields rubbed. Remarkable binding. Cover and spine very well preserved. Unstripped pages. Superb condition of the contents decorated with 30 black and white in and out black and white drypoints made by CERIA.
ORIGINAL EDITION. One of the 315 copies on Dutch vellum from the Pannekoek manufactures numbered and watermarked with the title of the book.
Beautiful first edition of one of the many works of the Romanian-born author Marthe Lucie Lahovary, Princess of Bibesco. Decorated with superb drypoints, this story is in the image of the author: worldly, attracted by cosmopolitanism, and right in the middle of the action. Just like Paris at the time of publication.
Very good condition.
