In a bordered case. Havana saddle-stitched binding. Set of vertical and horizontal gilt fillets on the covers and through the spine, forming a succession of rectangles of different sizes, blue box squares at the upper and inner corners of the rectangles, horizontal white and black fillets on the edges of the covers, protruding along the gilt fillets. Back with a wide rib decorated with blue and black vertical stripes and golden squares. Havana grief framed on the inside, decorated with a black morocco band and a gilt roundel at the corners, lining and guards of white and beige brocaded silk. Head speckled in different shades and gilded. Not trimmed. Cover and back preserved. Binding signed Paul Blocteur.
This edition, composed of texts taken from the Book of the Dead, is due to the initiative of E. Charbonneaux, it was drawn up by F.-L. Schmied who designed the layout and ornamentation: it is illustrated with 66 woodcut colour compositions, 12 of which are full-page.
