The Epitres de Sénéque, the first volume of the Ancients of the Bibliophile's Library, was reprinted on the occasion of the third centenary of the birth of Jean de la Fontaine, who had revised Antoine PINTREL's manuscript and translated the verses of the Latin text into French. This new edition has been prepared on the original edition of 1681.
