FIRST EDITION. One of 45 copies of numbered heads on Korean paper. Since its inception, Max Jacob has been fascinated by cinema. He regularly visits the dark rooms. He knows the classics of his time by heart, and defends the voiceless films. Cinématoma is the second and last book published by La Sirène. Indeed, Jacob had promised his manuscript by the end of 1918, and had difficulty meeting his deadlines. Moreover, he does not include the editors of La Sirène, founded by Jean Cocteau, Blaise Cendrars and Jacques Lafitte. This book is composed of about fifteen portraits of ordinary men and women, provincial and Parisian: "Celle sui a trouvé un mari", "L'avocat qui aura deux femmes au lieu d'une", "Le Monsieur qui se mêle de ce qui ne le regarde pas", etc.
Very good condition.
