Edition of Le Prince heureux and Le Rossignol et la rose, 2 tales by Oscar Wilde in translation by Albert Savine.

Edition illustrated with colour compositions by François-Louis Schmied who engraved and printed them on his hand presses. Collaborators: Pierre Bouchet and Théo Schmied fils, engravers and press operators.
Apart from the illustration of the cover and the 5 woodblocks out of text, the edition is illustrated by 27 thin vertical bands in the first tale and 23 horizontal ones in the second, plus a starting letter for each tale and monochrome line ends. Far from being considered decorative by Schmied, these abstract banners are for him a true illustration, for which he gives the table and the caption at the end of each part.
The illustration also includes 2 small woods and 4 vertical woods for the tables, and a small colour banner for the achevé to print.
