Christian Bobin was born and still lives in the working-class region of central France, in Le Creusot, in 1951. His father was a draughtsman. After high school, which he does not remember very fondly, Christian Bobin, an avid reader since childhood, studies philosophy, then works at the Autun library and for a magazine. He soon began publishing poems and essays with various publishers, in particular Gallimard. Difficult to classify in a precise literary genre, his texts are so many little tableaux, poems, diary fragments... he admits to living in books and shunning the literary milieu.
