FIRST EDITION. One of the 100 numbered copies on Holland, the only large paper edition. This one is studded with an autograph letter signed by the author to Émile Henriot (4 p. in-16 carré, Paris, October 20, 1920, with envelope): "" Dear Sir, [/] It is true that in À quoi rêvent les jeunes gens, you treated me rather badly; but why had I treated Renan so badly? Besides, all that is far away! We find ourselves melancholy survivors, embarked together on the same boat (which, alas, is no longer the last boat); we recognize ourselves as less different than we once thought - and we even discover that we had the same cradle..... ...".
Bound in-fine proof of the covers and spine, pages of forgery, title and dedication... under the name of André Mauriac!
Classic Honnelaître binding for this copy in perfect condition.
