Smooth spine adorned with a vertical decoration of parallel listels in lilac matte box cut in the center by a circle composed of listels in black varnished box. Lilac paper boards. Gilt head. Cover and spine preserved. Beige paper lining and endpapers. Untrimmed. Binding signed P.-L. MARTIN - 1970.
ORIGINAL EDITION. Copy of the special edition for the XX bibliophile group, 20 copies on Cuve vellum, numbered and signed by Malraux, with a double pink and beige cover. These twenty volumes form the first print run of the edition, which subsequently includes 62 Madagascar and 170 vellum copies in in-12 format.
Les Conquérants is a novel written in the form of a diary by André Malraux. It takes place in 1925, during the Chinese revolution. The work is difficult to classify, as it is based on real characters and events.
A very fine copy.
