Double gilt fillet on the edges and headpiece. Lined with morocco terre de Sienne decorated with a rich portico in the taste of romantic bindings. Wine-colored silk endpapers, double marbled paper endpapers. All edges gilt. Cover and spine preserved. Binding signed E. MAYLANDER.
EDITION ILLUSTRATED WITH 30 COLOR ENGRAVINGS BY MAURICE LALAU ENHANCED WITH GOLD LEAF. Novel translated from Latin by Louis Gielly and published at the expense of a group of bibliophiles.
LIMITED EDITION of 113 copies on Madagascar wove paper.
This copy is enriched with 6 ORIGINAL AQUARELLES, interfoliated, signed by Maurice LALAU and two handwritten letters signed by the illustrator to the collector H. Mareus, mounted on tabs.
