Speech by M. Valère Gille and Madame Colette (Séance publique du 4 avril 1936).

First edition of Colette's acceptance speech to the Académie royale de Belgique. The French original, published by Grasset on April 30, 1936, is "certainly a few days later than the Belgian fascicle, perhaps distributed to the guests at the end of the ceremony" (Société des amis de Colette).

Sémillant autograph letter from Colette on the title: [Réception de Madame Colette], who that day was dying of fear... But, on rereading it today, I find her little palaver not bad at all! May Monsieur [name deleted] be the only one to savor this unique admission of my vanity...

Very fine condition.
