Under case and shirt in half-marbled raspberry. Full raspberry morocco binding. Frame decoration made up of two sets of 6 gilded nets intersecting each other, reserving in their middle a blue morocco listel. Spine with raised bands decorated with the same gilded and mosaic decoration, royal blue morocco linings bordered with a gilded net, raspberry silk guards. Gilded edges on witnesses. Cover and illustrated spine preserved. Binding signed HUSER.
The volume is decorated with 84 small compositions in black and colour, drawn and engraved on wood by Auguste LEPERE. The artist supervised the entire production of the book, printed under his presses. The text is decorated with coloured letters.
Private edition of the Normandy Society's illustrated book - fifty copies had been sold at Conquet - and the first
separate edition of these stories.
