Signed autograph card, headed "Imprimerie A". Foltzer, Bayonne, dated March 16, 1921 and mounted at the head of the book: "In reply to your letter of the 13th current addressed to Mr. Lamaignère, of whom I am the successor, I regret to inform you that the Military Memoirs of the Knight of Béla, published in serial form in the Courrier de Bayonne, were the subject of a small print run, entirely given to the long deceased author (...)".
Very rare edition in book form (not at the Bnf, only one copy at the CCFr), printed in small numbers, all copies of which were given to Édouard DUCÉRÉ (1849-1910), who had provided the text.
Reprinted separately from the Bulletin de la Société des Sciences, Lettres et Arts de Bayonne, 1895-1896. This text had previously appeared as a serial in Augustin CHAHO's Ariel.
