Binding of the period full brown speckled basane. Spine with nerves decorated with golden boxes, partly erased. Short hairstyles. Three blood slices. Very fresh interior. Illustrated with numerous unfolding plates out of text, including, at the end of the second volume, the 2 plates representing the Savery English fire machine.
In 1771, Father Charles Bossut (1730-1814) published an elementary treatise on hydrodynamics. Shortly afterwards, Turgot asked him to teach this new science, which was still difficult to use. Bossut therefore made new experiments that led, 15 years later, to the fundamental work presented here.
Beautiful work, well complete with all its boards.
