Leather-edged slipcase and half maroquin shirt with stripes and flaps. Full dark blue morocco binding. Smooth, silent spine. First dish decorated with a boat with gilded iron and mosaic veil of red box leather. All edges gilt. Red box lining and guard, double guard. Original paper covers and spine bound in. Binding signed MAROT-RODDE. With 16 illustrations by Louis WILLAUME in colour, 4 of which are non-text.
Ex-libris of Henri Bonnasse (1899-1984), a Marseilles banker, a renowned bibliophile and member of the Société des Amis des Livres and the bibliophile society Le Livre Contemporain This collection was dispersed during Henri Bonnasse's lifetime, on 20 March and 27 November 1982.
LIMITED DRAWING. This is one of 50 numbered headpieces on Imperial Japan with a double sequence of black and colour illustrations bound in fine of the volume and an additional frontispiece .
Unique copy, the 18 ORIGINAL AQUARLS used to illustrate the book are bound at the end of this volume, mounted on tabs after the sequences .
