Book entirely engraved by Pierre Nolin, ornamental engraver, comprising (complete) 1 frontispiece title, 1 false title, 1 dedication to the Minister of Justice, the Marquis de Chasteauneuf, and 60 beautiful plates engraved with a burin.
ORIGINAL EDITION dedicated to the Keeper of the Seals of L'Aubespine, of this very rare armorial.
It is one of the first heraldic works to systematically use the hatching system for the expression of metals and enamels, which was only developed in the 1630s.
