In Là-bas, Huysmans follows the initiatory journey of Durtal, a former art critic weary of worldly life. In search of meaning, he turns to the Catholic Church, then to the occult, before sinking into a satanic universe. The novel is a descent into the underworld, an exploration of the limits of faith and reason.
A precious illustrated copy.
