Leather-edged slipcase. Solid black morocco binding with coarse grain. Smooth spine with large piece of ochre calf and golden patterns. Each dish is decorated with an art-decide-style polychrome decoration with gilding and mosaic pieces in red, green and ochre. Top edge gilt. Interior frame of the same morocco with gilded threads. Brocaded silk lining. Original paper covers and spine bound in. Binding signed René KIEFFER. Novel illustrated with 65 original woods, 5 of which are out of text by Pierre FALKE stencilled in colour.
Limited edition to 365 numbered copies. This one is one of the 5 head copies on Imperial Japan.
